Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz. The Taj Mahal is the good example of Mughal construction style, which combines elements from Persian, Turkish and Indian construction styles.

In 1983, UNESCO recognized as World Heritage Site. The white domed marble monument is the most familiar inherent of the Taj Mahal; it is actually an incorporated complex of structures. The construction was began 1632 and was completed 1653.The construction of the Taj Mahal was allocated to a board of architects under imperial supervision.

In 1631, Shah Jahan, emperor during the Mughal Empire’s period of glorious wealth, was sorrowful when his  wife, Mumtaz, died during the birth of their child, Gauhara Begum.
